British F4: Joseph Smith switches to Virtuosi for 2026

Hitech TGR and 2025 Rookie Joseph Smith will make the switch to Virtuosi Racing for 2026 for a full-time campaign.

After competing in the final four rounds of the 2025 season with Hitech TGR, he looks to take on a full-time campaign for 2026 after impressing in his first outings. The 16-year-old took an excellent finish of sixth place overall at Silverstone last season with it also giving him his maiden rookie cup victory in the process. He would also go on to claim two victories in the Challenge Cup across the final two races of the season as well as a couple more podium places in the Challenge Cup in his short time in the series. Showcasing excellent adaptability and skill across the back end of the season where most drivers have become more comfortable with their cars, he showed rapid development and a great candidate for podiums and victories in the upcoming season.

 

Virtuosi Racing Team Manager, Mark Salmon, said: “I am delighted to welcome Joseph into our team for the 2026 season.”

 

He would further speak about his development and testing with how impressed the team have been with him: “We have been testing since the end of the 2025 season, and he has really impressed me with his speed and attitude. I’m excited to see what next season holds for the both of us.”

 

After signing with the team, Joseph Smith said: “I am excited for the opportunity to join Virtuosi Racing in my first full season competing in British F4. I will be working hard to build on the progress I have made this year so that together we can fight for the championship in 2026.”
