It was announced today that British F4 will join the schedule for Formula One’s British Grand Prix this year.

The series will join Formula 2 and Formula 3 in being a support series for the event meaning it will be the first time that the three junior categories and Formula One will race at the same event. Formula One will be celebrating it’s 75th anniversary this year and British F4 has played a part it in giving a number of past and present drivers over the last decade their first step on the single seater ladder.
Drivers like current F1 championship leader Oscar Piastri, as well as teammate and multi-time race winner Lando Norris, began their single seater career in British F4 with a number of other junior category drivers racing across the weekend stepping through the series to get to where they are today.
With an expected attendance of 480,000 fans over the weekend, it gives the drivers the opportunity to race in front of a capacity crowd of passionate fans. The teams and drivers have expressed high levels of interest in being a part of the Formula One package for the British Grand Prix weekend.
The series will host two 25-minute plus one lap races with all drivers and teams from British F4 welcome to race in non-championship rounds which will take place across the weekend.
Eve Lake-Grange, British F4 Championship Manager, said: “It goes without saying that this is a real milestone moment for everyone that is involved with the Wera Tools F4 British Championship certified by FIA. To have the opportunity to compete on the support bill of Formula 1 at the British Grand Prix is something that we’ve been working towards for a long time, so we are delighted to have been able to now make it happen. We pride ourselves on being the first step on the pathway to Formula 1 and for our drivers to be able to see the potential career roadmap that is ahead of them – on the same weekend that they are competing – will be both special and inspiring. The level of interest that we’ve had for this non-championship event has been incredible so far and we’re shaping up to confirm a bumper, ultra-competitive grid. There is no bigger stage than Formula 1 and we’re all incredibly excited to put on a show for the hundreds of thousands of fans that will be in attendance at Silverstone in July.”
