With a full week of entry announcements to come, Optimum Motorsports second GT3 entry is confirmed for 2025. This is the final of Optimum's entries meaning that they will have four in total with two in GT3 and two in GT4. The team running their 720S will have the lineup of Morgan Tillbrook and McLaren factory driver Marvin Kirchhöfer.
Former Garage 59 driver Morgan Tillbrook moved away from the team after last season to join Optimum Motorsport over the winter in preparation for 2025. He has had extensive experience in the McLaren having driven it on multiple occasions since 2021, winning three races in the 720S and finishing third in the 2022 championship.
Meanwhile Marvin Kirchhöfer also has some British GT experience under his belt, racing as a guest driver at Silverstone in 2022 before competing full time in 2023 claiming two poles and a podium in his only full season of British GT.
The pairing raced in Asian Le Mans Series over the winter, gaining some experience in racing as a team with Optimum Motorsport ahead of 2025.
Marvin Kirchhöfer said: “Morgan has shown great pace in qualifying at the Asian Le Mans Series which will be one of the key points for British GT, especially with the shorter races where starting position is very important. The combination of his qualifying for one race and me for another at events such as Snetterton and Oulton Park will get us in a decent spot. If we can keep it clean we can get some really good race results.”
“There’s only one goal this year, and that’s going for the overall championship win and I’m very optimistic that we can do this and I’m excited for that challenge!”
