British GT: Barnicoat and Tillbrook to drive for Optimum in 2026

Optimum Motorsport has confirmed that Morgan Tillbrook will drive for the team again with new teammate Ben Barnicoat.

Tillbrook raced with the team last season alongside Marvin Kirchhöfer where the paring finished seventh in the standings with three podium finishes and just behind the Blackthorn Aston Martin after entering the weekend in the top four and still in the championship fight.

Barnicoat has become one of the top GT drivers in the world, representing manufacturers Lexus in America and McLaren across the rest of the globe. Having previously driven for Optimum at the Bathurst 12 hours earlier this year, he already has started to settle into his place at the team. He previously raced in British GT with Inception Racing at Silverstone in 2023 after a brief period racing in GT4’s half a decade earlier.

After signing with the team, Ben Barnicoat said: “I’m really excited to be competing in British GT this year alongside Morgan with Optimum Motorsport. Morgan’s a proven force in this series and I’ve already had success with this team, so I’m confident we can have further success together in 2026.”
