After the announcement of a new, cost-effective class for teams looking to enter British GT's longer events only in the Endurance Cup class, Jolt Racing become the first team to join the class.
The team of Rupert Williams and John Ingram who won the GT Cup GTA Class last year will now jump in the British GT GT4 class for 2025.
Neither Ingram or Williams have any experience in British GT but Ingram did race in the British F3, the support category fir the series, during 1998 and 1999. He has raced in a lot of different national series and the European Le Mans Series before having a decade and a half hiatus from racing, returning to racing with Jolt in the Citroen C1 Endurance Series.
With the announcement, Ingram said "Stepping up to British GT was always our goal, and the introduction of the new Endurance Cup made 2025 the perfect time to make that move. Last year’s season in the GT Cup was all about development, and now we’re ready to put everything into action with the new McLaren Artura GT4.
“We’ve made some significant developments within the team, bringing in key new personnel to strengthen our operation and working on a new team premises. With everything coming together, we’re looking forward to getting started at Media Day in a few weeks’ time.”
Teammate Rupert Williams has been a part of Jolt Racing for a few years now as well. Racing in the Citroen C1 Championship in 2023 with Ingram, both of them making the step up to the GT Cup GTA Class in 2024.
Rupert Williams said: “I’m really excited to be moving into British GT this year, and to continue racing alongside John. It’s a highly competitive championship, and with that comes new challenges, but we’re ready to take them on.
“John and I have developed a strong partnership over the past couple of years, and with the support of the team and our partners – including our newly announced partnership with Otto Lube – I’m confident that we’ve got a really strong foundation to build on this season.
“This will be our first season with the new McLaren Artura GT4, but we’ve already had a positive start with a successful testing programme in Spain, so I’m excited to see what we can achieve.”
