The GT4 squad, Mahiki Racing, makes the step up to GT3 with one of their entries for the finale at Donington Park.

Mahiki Racing has been running three cars this season in GT4, running the Lotus Emira for the first four races of the year before switching to the Ginetta G56 for the remainder of the season. The team has now decided that one of their three teams will make the switch to GT3 this weekend driving the McLaren 720S alongside their GT4 entries. Steven Lake and Joseph Miller will be driving the teams’ debut in the GT3 category now that the opportunity to take the GT4 title are gone.
Lake, the founder of Mahiki Racing, had previously been partnered with Jack Mitchell and Blake Angliss throughout the first seven rounds of the season, would not compete at Brands Hatch allowing Luke Garlick the chance to race. Meanwhile, Miller has competed in all eight races this season in the No. 84 car claiming a best result of second place at Snetterton.
The team are currently ahead of schedule with their programme as they move to GT3 earlier than expected and look to race with an expanded GT3 squad for 2026. The team won’t score overall or class points due to being a late season entry.
With the announcement, Steven Lake said: “Mahiki is always looking to push boundaries and look to the future, and we made a decision when getting into GT racing that we’d one day go all the way. So, although this is a little ahead of schedule, it was always the plan for us to enter GT3"
“We are looking forward to the challenge. Donington will be our first GT3 race but by no means our last: we have purchased two McLarens and plan to run both in 2026, so the rest of this year is very much testing in preparation for next season.”
