The next entry on the British GT grid comes with more than just one car in the announcement as Mahiki Racing has announced three Lotus Emiras will run in the GT4 category for 2025. Two of the cars will run in the Pro-Am class while the third will run in the Silver class.
The announcement also came with the first driver lineup for the team with 2018 GT4 champion Jack Mitchell will drive alongside Steven Lake in the first of the Pro-Am entries.
Mitchell after claiming the GT4 title, he went onto win on a couple of occasions in GT3 before leaving the series after Oulton Park in 2022.
Jack Mitchell said: “I’m really excited to be teaming up with Mahiki Racing and Steven Lake for the upcoming British GT season. The team had a successful first year in the GT4 category, the rate of progress across the season was very impressive and I look forward to building on that for 2025. Both mine and Steve’s goals aligned perfectly which has given me full confidence for the season ahead.”
“I’m really looking forward to working with the team and seeing what we can achieve together. It’s going to be an exciting season for us all.”
Steven Lake is heading into his second British GT season with the team and Lotus. He also raced in the GT4 European Series in the Emira as well.
Steven Lake said: “This season marks an exciting chapter as we partner with Lotus officially. The entire team has put in an incredible effort to refine every aspect of our approach; our focus is on consistency, precision, and amplifying our performance to be in contention for podium finishes at every race.”
“We know the competition will be formidable, but with the dedication and expertise within the team we are confident that our hard work will pay off. Every detail, from preparation to execution on race day, is being fine-tuned with the support of the team at Lotus to give us the best possible chance of success. We can’t wait to hit the track and showcase what we’ve been working on.”
