A surprise pairing announced for Optimum Motorsports entry of Mike Price and Callum Macleod have been confirmed for their assault on the upcoming season.

Price and Macleod had raced together in 2024 with Greystone GT in the Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo where they finished the season 10th in the standings with a best finish of 6th that season.

But a surprise switch to Optimum Motorsport for both drivers was announced earlier today as they both with drive the McLaren 720S GT3 Evo for their season long campaign.

The Pro-am duo have been confirmed to be running one of two 720S GT3's this season as both will be run by Optimum Motorsport.

The car which was raced by Mark Radcliffe and Tom Gamble finished 5th in the drivers standings so the hope is that Price and Macleod can build upon that. This will be Price and Macleod's third season as teammates. This will also be Price's third season in British GT while Macleod has been racing the Mercedes-AMG GT3 since 2018.

On his move to Optimum Motorsport, Mike Price said: “It is such a fantastic opportunity to try and progress further in British GT after the progress made in the Mercedes-AMG GT3 with Greystone over the past two years. We are aiming to better the 10th place finish in the championship last year and push for our first elusive podium in the series; no mean feat amongst the most competitive GT3 competition in the UK and one of the most Europe-wide."

Meanwhile Callum Macleod on the move said: “2025 marks 10 years since I made my British GT debut at Silverstone in an Audi R8, and after nine years of racing front-engined cars with the Bentley and Mercedes-AMG I’m really looking forward to the challenge of stepping into the mid-engined McLaren 720S GT3,” said the three-time race winner.

“Optimum is a team I know very well from my mentoring role with Jack Brown in the GT4. I’ve watched them operate at the very highest level consistently and with a real hunger to win, so when Mike hinted that he was interested in exploring options outside of his Mercedes-AMG there was only one place I wanted to be and fortunately the stars have aligned."
