Alliance Racing’s Peter Osborne would be fined after the Brands Hatch BTCC weekend due to an incident with Jason Plato after the event.

During the second race of the day at Brands Hatch, a battle between NAPA’s Sam Osborne and Plato Racing’s Daniel Rowbottom would end in disaster. Rowbottom would send a move up the inside into Druids on Osborne after the latter was recovering from going off the road at Paddock Hill Bend causing a collision between the pair and taking Osborne out of the race and into the side of an already stricken BMW of Charles Rainford who went off after an incident only moments before.
This led to Peter Osborne going to the Plato Racing garage after the race confronting Jason Plato that has been deemed by officials as to have used abusive language or behaviour and breached the Motorsport UK’s “Race with Respect” code of conduct.
The BARC statement of the incident read: “After viewing video provided by Plato Racing and having discussed this incident with both Jason Plato and Peter Osborne, it is clear that Peter Osborne went to the Plato Racing pit straight after the race finished. He approached team principal Jason Plato and verbally threatened violence against Dan Rowbottom, this came as a result of an on-track incident between the car driven by Dan Rowbottom and that of Peter Osbornes’ son Sam.”
