It has been announced that young star Dexter Patterson has signed with Power Maxed Racing for the upcoming 2026 season.

Racing the Audi S3 for the 2026 season, Power Maxed Racing has confirmed their first driver for the upcoming season with Dexter Patterson embarking on the next chapter of his BTCC career. He started karting in 2011 where he spent a couple years in the Trent Valley Kart Club before switching the Super One Series Championship in 2013 where he would finish fourth in the standings. He would join the Super 1 National Championship in 2014 and claim his first championship success the following season, claiming the IAME Cadet title. He would also claim the Formula Kart Stars championship in the Super Cadet class that same year. 2016 would see him claim more success in karting, taking the Rotax Mini Max title in the Kartmasters British Grand Prix series. More junior success would follow in 2017, claiming the OK Junio championships in Trofeo delle Industrie and the CIK-FIA World Championship. A solid 2018 campaign would lead to a mega final year in karting, claiming a top three in the standings in five of the seven championships he competed in which includes the WSK Super Masters Series championship in the OK Class.
He would move into single seaters for 2020, competing in the Formula 4 UAE Championship and the Italian F4 Championship. He only competed in three rounds of the F4 UAE Championship, but he would claim two fourth places and a sixth upon debut in an excellent first showing. Italian F4 had a solid start as well, claiming points in all of the first four races of the season. After a 2021 campaign which saw him claim his maiden single seater podium in a brief stint in the GB3 Championship, he would make the switch to the BTCC for 2022, driving with Laser Tools Racing.
Driving in Infiniti Q50, he would have a solid debut season in a tightly contested field, often finishing on the border of the points positions. His Jack Sears Trophy campaign took him to sixth in the standings, with a podium in class on debut and claiming eight more throughout the season. 2023 would see him switch to Team HARD with the Cupra Leon. He would once again be on the border of points all season, claiming 41 points in the season, with a best finish of sixth at Knockhill. After a year stint in the GT4 European Series with Mahiki Racing, he would return to the BTCC for 2025 with Un-Limited Motorsport. A solid season despite a couple of incidents he got caught up in meant he scored his most points to date and claiming a number of podiums in the Independents championship to finish fourth in the class.
2026 sees him set off into a new chapter of his BTCC career, with him aiming for both the Independent championship and the Jack Sears Trophy.
After signing with the team, Dexter Patterson said: “I'm really excited to be joining Power Maxed Racing at such an important time for the team. The move to the Audi S3 makes this a fresh project for everyone, and that's something that really motivated me. Last season showed what we're capable of when everything comes together. For 2026, the goal is to start strongly, keep building momentum, and make sure we're fighting consistently at the front end of the grid."
Adam Weaver, Team Principal of PMR, said: “Dexter hasn't yet had the full opportunity to show what he's truly capable of in the BTCC, but his CV speaks for itself. His karting record was phenomenal, and when you add his single-seater experience to his touring car background, he brings far more depth and race knowledge than people perhaps realise. Heading into 2026, it was important for us to put ourselves in a position to challenge across the board, and Dexter gives us that platform. As a minimum, he'll be a serious contender for the Jack Sears Trophy, and we're determined to bring that title back to Power Maxed Racing."
