Three time BTCC champion Gordon Shedden joins Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport for 2026 in exciting new lineup.

The last couple of days have been all exciting news from the Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport camp with them initially announcing their switch to Toyota Corolla's in partnership with Speedworks Motorsport and Toyota Gazoo Racing for the upcoming BTCC season. This would be followed by them announcing the first of their two drivers with Àròn Taylor-Smith joining the team. Today, they have announced that three time BTCC Champion Gordon Shedden will join them in an excellent lineup.
Shedden has earned fifty-three race wins across his career as well as 139 podiums. After a couple year hiatus from the series he would return last season capturing a victory at Oulton Park with some other stellar drives from him across the season. He continues with a new team behind him but with machinery he's now more familiar with joining Laser Tools Racing MB Motorsport meaning he can use his experience and expertise to drive the team forward.
After signing with the team, Gordon Shedden said: “I am thrilled to be joining the Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport team for 2026 - there’s something that just feels right about a Scotsman donning those iconic blue and white colours! Buoyed by the way that I ended the season in the Corolla last year, I’m heading into the new season hugely motivated and ready to take the fight to the next level.
“It’s a huge benefit to have our plans in place so early so our planning and preparation can start in earnest - I owe a lot of gratitude to my personal partners and the Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport partners in making that possible. The programme is being brought together incredibly professionally, and I am confident that we are going to be in a great position to have a successful year together.”
Sporting Director for Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport, Mark Blundell said: “Welcoming Gordon into the fold for 2026 is a huge coup for the team. His reputation, results and record speak for themselves - we are signing up one of the series’ most successful drivers ever to complete a super strong lineup for our first year as a two-car outfit. In all our conversations to get to this point, Gordon’s hunger and desire to succeed has been obvious and we look forward to providing him with the platform he needs to hunt down even more victories.”
