Tom Ingram took an excellent pole position during his quest to catch Sutton in the championship at Oulton Park

Group 1 saw a lot of trading of positions and a lot of time deletions due to track limits. But, the session would end with Chris Smiley fastest ahead of fellow Hyundai drivers Ingram and Adam Morgan. Meanwhile, Josh Cook, Tom Chilton and Ash Sutton would all find their way through to the second part of qualifying.
Shock eliminations would be for reigning champion Jake Hill and third placed driver in the standings Daniel Rowbottom. Furthermore, Gordon Shedden will start last on the grid for the opening race tomorrow in another difficult session Toyota.
Group 2 would see a just as frantic session as Dan Cammish would take the checkered flag with the fastest time ahead of Dan Lloyd and Mikey Doble. Joining them in progressing through would be James Dorlin, Árón Taylor-Smith and Charles Rainford.
However, a post session ride height inspection caught Dan Lloyd of being below minimum ride height. This meant he was disqualified from the session and Senna Proctor would advance instead.
The second part of qualifying would see a lot of track limit penalties as drivers were unable to escape the lap time invalidations across the session.
Smiley once more would top the times ahead of Sutton and Morgan all while Ingram, Cammish and Dorlin would make their way through to the 'Quick Six' session.
Early in the session, Ingram would put in a phenomenal lap while Morgan would end up on grass ruining his chances of getting close. No one could touch Ingram's lap as he took pole by over 4 tenths of a second.
Smiley would finish the session in second while Cammish and Sutton make it an all NAPA second row. Dorlin would finish 5th in the session while Morgan would round out the top six ready for the first race tomorrow.
