The second qualifying session of the season would see shock eliminations early and an intense battle for pole where Jake Hill would win out on his home circuit.

The first part of qualifying would see DeLeon go fastest early on in the session before Ingram took the top spot at the half way point of the session. Then Moffat would go off at Paddock Hill bend causing a red flag.

The session would get back underway but Ingram would have to come back into the pits having all his times deleted due to a ride height check mid session. Nick Hamilton would go off the road at the final corner but would go back on track quickly before Ingram went back to the top with just over a minute to go.

The end of the session would remain with Ingram at the top of the first group just 3 hundredths ahead of DeLeon. Cammish would finish the session in third less than a tenth behind Ingram. Lloyd would also make his way to the second part of qualifying ahead of Osbourne and Smiley.

Surprise eliminations would be for Sutton, Chilton and Cook as the three of them finished 7th, 8th and 9th respectively.

Group 2 would quickly get underway and be just as feisty with Rainford taking the fastest time during the session surviving the consistently closing gaps from the cars behind. The rest of the field continued to chop and change as the track grew quicker and the drivers get more comfortable.

Hill would go fastest in the final 2 minutes jumping Rainford and would go on to stay fastest ahead of Rainford and Doble. Morgan would finish 4th ahead of Jelley and Pearson who once more advances into the next round.

Once more Shedden has a disappointing Qualifying finishing the session last at the end of the group.

The second round would see the top twelve decide who will be whittled down to six as Hill would go fastest by the half way point ahead of Morgan before Doble split then with just under 4 minutes to go. Rainford would them go fastest and then Ingram splits the BMW's for 2nd.

The session would end with Rainford on top ahead of Ingram and Hill, Doble would finish the session in 4th as the only Independent driver to get through to the top 6. Morgan and Cammish would also make it through as well.

The final part of qualifying would be intense as the six drivers would only be covered by a few tenths in the prior session and all the drivers knew that on such a short circuit.

Rainford would go fastest at the half way point before fellow BMW driver Hill takes it away from him. Morgan would only remain a few hundredths behind the pairing but with 2 minutes to go no one could get a faster time in as the tyres began to fall away.

Hill would take pole position ahead of Rainford and Morgan, Ingram would take 4th ahead of Cammish and Doble with all of them covered by just over a quarter of a second.
