After much uncertainty of not just the teams future but his own, Mikey Doble has resigned with Power Maxed Racing for 2025.

A tough off season for PMR saw them lose their title partner Evans Halshaw causing much uncertainty on whether they will stay on the grid or not. But, some luck came their way as Motor Parts Direct have become their title partner for 2025 with the team now racing under the name Motor Parts Direct with Power Maxed Racing.

After that announcement, everything seemed more certain as it has now been confirmed Mikey Doble will be driving for the team for a third season in 2025. Making his debut in 2023 with the Vauxhall outfit, he went on to win the Jack Sears Trophy last season with 15 wins in the class scoring his maiden overall podium at Oulton Park. He also scored seven Independent Class wins in 2024 on his way to helping the team, alongside Arón Taylor-Smith, to claim the class championship.

He continues with the team throughout 2025 but looks likely to be the only Astra on the grid as the team is looking to find another manufacturer to run their second entry this season.

After signing, Mikey Doble said: “I’m thrilled to be returning to the BTCC for a third straight year and aiming to kick on from what has already been an amazing couple of years in the championship. I’m delighted to be doing it with Power Maxed Racing and leading the charge there, showing everyone, our best is yet to come.”

“So far, I’ve accomplished everything that I set out to achieve in my first couple of years in the BTCC, including scoring a pole position in qualifying, an overall podium finish and of course winning the Jack Sears Trophy last season.”

“This year we’re looking to take things up to the next level by challenging for podiums on a more regular basis, taking that Independent Drivers’ title and ultimately winning a race – it won’t be a success in my eyes if we don’t do the latter.”

“Everyone at the team has been working really hard over these past few months and I cannot wait to get back out in the Vauxhall Astra, starting at Croft for the first official test in just a few weeks’ time.”

Team Principle, Adam Weaver, said: “We are incredibly happy to retain Mikey for a third successive season, which provides excellent continuity and consistency for the team. Mikey has done a great job in his first two seasons with us, we are fully aligned on our collective goals and cannot wait to get started.”

“It has been a productive and important week for the team, having also welcomed Motor Parts Direct as joint Title Partner of Power Maxed Racing. Now, we can all look forward to the official pre-season tests prior to the season opener at Donington Park.”
