After Power Maxed Racing’s disastrous fire that burnt down their facilities including a number of current and former cars, all the equipment and the teams stock warehouse, it looked unlikely for the team to make a comeback in time for Knockhill, but with some help the team will make it to Knockhill this weekend.

In the days since the fire happened, the team has been through a tough period as they will have to start from scratch once more. However, the team are not backing down as the Team Principal of PMR, Adam Weaver, made the announcement in the days that have followed that they will race at Knockhill with at least one car. Stating that it will be the biggest challenge in their history, he was determined to keep on pushing forward. The teams’ transporters were luckily parked away from the building which still carries basic equipment for the team meaning they would find it less difficult to run this weekend.
The first to step forward was the Patterson family, who have leased the former Cupra of Scott Sumpton which they now own to PMR to give them the opportunity to race at Knockhill. Un-Limited Motorsport have also shown support to PMR by giving one of their Cupra’s, which was previously raced by Stephen Jelley at Croft, meaning they will be able to run two cars this weekend. TOCA have also granted the Un-Limited Motorsport team permission to lease their car without affecting their TBL allocation.
With the two Cupra’s being leased and the support from a number of different teams as well as TOCA, Adam Weaver said: “The outpouring of support since the weekend has been nothing short of incredible and merely underlines my previous point – the BTCC is the most amazing motorsport community anywhere in the world.
“We still have an unfathomable amount of work ahead of this weekend, and beyond of course, but to be able to say that we will be on the grid with two cars is arguably one of the proudest moments of my career and the most poignant and significant moment in the history of Power Maxed Racing. Thank you to Un-Limited Motorsport, the Patterson’s and the wider BTCC family – this simply wouldn’t have been possible without their support.”
