The second BTCC race of the weekend saw Daniel Rowbottom take the win after a great drive during others misfortune.
After his race 1 win earlier on, Dan Cammish started on pole ahead of Tom Ingram and Ash Sutton. But Sutton got an extraordinary start taking the lead while Cammish and Ingram battled for second.
Ingram got by for second place and tried hunting down Sutton before going off at the exit of turn 1 and smashing the rear left tyre into thr barrier in an attempt to save it causing Ingram to be out of the race.
Rowbottom meanwhile, passed Cammish before getting passed Sutton to take the lead from his NAPA Racing teammate. Sutton and Cammish continued to fall from the lead on the hard tyres with dropping to 5th by the end of lap 4, Cammish would drop even further.
The leading NAPA of Rowbottom defended hard from Dan Lloyd while Adam Morgan and Tom Chilton tried attacking the Restart Racing driver. Cammish and Sutton would continue to fall with Cammish falling outside the points while Sutton was struggling to keep inside the top 10.
Lloyd made a move for the lead that looked to be sealed before Rowbottom makes a come back to reclaim the top spot in the same sequence of corners.
The top five were split by less than 2 seconds on lap 9 which led to Morgan making a move on Lloyd for second place and had an opportunity to go after Rowbottom. Lloyd would fall one place further as Chilton would get by for third.
But, Rowbottom would hold on and take the win in race 2 ahead of Morgan and Chilton. Lloyd would take his second Independent win of the day ahead of teammate Chris Smiley who finished in the top 5. Mikey Doble would finish ahead of Josh Cook while Sam Osborne, Charles Rainford and Sutton would complete the top 10.
