It was announced earlier this year that Senna Proctor would take the fourth Team Vertu Hyundai seat for the second half of the 2025 season, but he has now been boosted into an earlier start at Thruxton this weekend.

Proctor joins Tom Ingram, Tom Chilton and Adam Morgan in a 4-car strong lineup with all of them being race winners. The Hyundai squad hasn’t won at the circuit since they joined the BTCC in 2019 but with the lineup they have now being potentially the strongest they’ve ever had; they look to have a promising chance of doing so this year.
Proctor is a multi-time podium finisher and race winner in his own right, racing for the team in 2020 scoring a podium at Knockhill during his only season to date in the Hyundai. Now rejoining the team with a much more well rounded i30 Fastback N Performance, his chances at taking better results on a more consistent basis seem more likely. His deal with the team looked to be set for the second half of the year from his home circuit of Croft onwards, but a newly expanded deal means he will take the reigns of Hyundai from this weekend as well as the following race weekend at Oulton Park instead of Michael Crees.
Senna Proctor, after extending his deal, said: “I’m delighted to be back on the BTCC grid this weekend and can’t wait to get going at Thruxton. There’s no doubting the fact that it’s a challenging circuit on which to make my return to the series, but it’s one where I’ve had some good results in the past - including my last outing back in 2021 when I finished on the podium!
“As I said when my deal with the team was announced, this season is all about playing the long game and looking to the future as I work towards a full-time return to the grid in 2026 - but I still want to be able to challenge towards the front and fighting for some strong results.
“This will be the first time I’ve tasted the new three-part qualifying format which promises to be interesting, but having seen how well the car has performed in the opening rounds, I’m just really excited about the prospect of getting back behind the wheel. Three solid performances at Thruxton this weekend would be a good way to kick things off.”
