The excitement of the BTCC certainly continues into round 2 after another win for Sutton, but it was not made easy by his rivals

Sutton started on pole position after winning race 1 ahead of Ingram and Rowbottom. A solid and even start for the top 2 meant they went unchallenged into turn 1 from the rest of the pack. Meanwhile Rowbottom dropped behind reigning champion Hill off the line.

Sutton and Ingram continued to fight while Cook on the softs moved past Rowbottom and then Hill for third place. He would challenge Ingram and Sutton for quite a few laps.

While this battle for the lead raged on, race 1 Independent class winner Mikey Doble had been given a drive through penalty for mechanics still working on the car after the allowed time.

Cammish and Morgan would be on the move as Cammish would find his way past Rowbottom on lap 9 while Morgan made up 11 places in the first half of the race.

Disaster would strike for Cook as his soft tyres would give up at the same time as Rainford's with both getting a puncture, the latter would retire from the race due to it.

Hill would need to defend from a hard charging Cammish after flying through the field. Cammish with more boost would manage to get by the BMW and recover from the horrid luck that was the puncture in race 1.

Ingram would continue to try and catch Sutton but the two drivers were very evenly matched and Sutton takes another win ahead of Ingram in second. Cammish would take the final podium spot ahead of Hill. Meanwhile, Rowbottom took 5th for NAPA ahead of Chilton and Moffat. Chris Smiley took the Independent race win after finishing 8th and pulling an extraordinary move on Patterson and Deleon.

After the race the reverse grid draw for race 3 which decides what position between 6th to 12th would the grid be reversed from. Sutton picked out ball number 6 so Chilton will start on pole ahead of Rowbottom then Hill. Cammish will start 4th ahead of Ingram in 5th and Sutton in 6th for race 3.
