Earlier this week, Honda was announced to be making their full return to British GT since the 1990's. Honda previously raced in the series during the GT1 and GT2 era during the mid 90's. After departing from the series, they would go on to power the Lotus Exige GT3 in 2007 before once again bowing out.

However, Honda is set to make its British GT return as a GT3 entry has been announced to join the series in 2025 with Bridger Motorsport. The team will be running the NSX Evo '22, the third generation of the NSX under the GT3 category after contesting many national series across the globe with the current and previous gens of the NSX.

Bridger Motorsport will make their debut in the series as well with the team never running a GT3 outfit before this, having only raced a single round in the British Endurance Championship with the Mclaren 570S GT4 last season.

The team has also confirmed drivers Chun Cheong Ip and Luke Garlick will race for them in 2025. Ip was one of the drivers that raced with the team during that sole outing in the British Endurance Championship as he looks to start a new chapter with the team in 2025.

With the announcement that he has signed with the team, Ip said: “This year, I am proud to be competing in the British GT Championship, a stage where some of the world’s best GT racers push the limits. I will be driving the Honda NSX GT3 Evo 2022, a car that truly represents performance, precision, and the racing spirit that I have always admired. Competing in British GT is a dream come true, and I can’t wait to take on this challenge, represent my roots, and push myself to the next level.”

Teammate Luke Garlick is also debuting in the GT3 category this season, having been part of the British GT paddock for a few years, claiming the Ginetta GT5 Challenge Pro title in 2023 before finishing third in the GT Championship in 2024.

Garlick said: “I am very excited to start my GT3 journey with Bridger Motorsport and Honda. Having previously raced Ginettas, this is a new challenge for me but I am sure that we will make our mark on the British GT grid. I’ve tested the car and can’t wait to get behind the wheel for the season opener at Donington Park, nor make the most of this opportunity.”
